My Journey
Hi,
I'm Zia Wagner—a trauma-informed Holistic Life Coach, Mind-Body Practitioner, and lifelong student of human behavior, nervous system regulation, and personal growth.
I help people develop greater self-awareness, understand the patterns, triggers, and protective strategies that shape their lives, and build a more compassionate relationship with themselves. My work is rooted in the belief that lasting change doesn't come from fixing ourselves—it comes from understanding ourselves.
My own journey taught me that true transformation rarely comes from trying harder or becoming someone different. Growing up in an environment where vulnerability was often seen as weakness, I learned to hide my struggles and always appear strong. Over time, I discovered that true strength comes from understanding ourselves with honesty and compassion rather than judgment. That realization became the foundation of both my personal life and my work with clients.
Today, I live on a small ranch in California with my husband of over 15 years, our rescued horses, mule, dogs, cats, rabbit, and the occasional foster animal. Nature, animals, and a slower pace of life have become some of my greatest teachers.
My professional background includes certification as a Holistic Life Coach and Mind-Body Practitioner, a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, NLP Practitioner certification, over 200 hours of Equine-Assisted Learning training, and a year-long professional training in Compassionate Inquiry, Dr. Gabor Maté's trauma-informed approach to understanding the patterns that shape our lives. I continue to deepen this work through ongoing mentorship, advanced study, and my own personal growth journey.
My approach is rooted in curiosity rather than correction. I don't believe people need to be fixed. I believe we all adapt in the best ways we can with the experiences, resources, and awareness available to us at the time. Many of the patterns, triggers, beliefs, and coping strategies that create challenges in our lives today once served an important purpose.
Together, we explore those patterns with curiosity and compassion. Through self-awareness, nervous system understanding, mindfulness, coaching, and the wisdom of nature and animals, clients begin to recognize what drives their reactions, build a healthier relationship with themselves, and create meaningful change from a place of understanding rather than self-criticism.
I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they know and the resources available to them in that moment. When we begin to understand ourselves instead of judging ourselves, new possibilities emerge.
The goal isn't to become someone else. The goal is to understand who you already are.
My goal is to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and create the foundation for a more balanced, present, and empowered life.
